Frank Kearns was founder and guitarist of 80's rock band Cactus World News, whose debut album sold over a quarter of a million copies worldwide. Walking the Waves is his first solo instrumental album.

Wire was commissioned to produce a sleeve and booklet to reflect something of the atmosphere and mood of the music within. Photographs taken by Frank himself on a trip to Samoa, which inspired most of the music, were digitally manipluated and layered and combined with hand lettering, gold ink and a fold-out centre spread to deliver something more than a mere piece of packaging - it's part of the whole listening experience.
